American war veteran sponsors USD 30.000 to build primary school

An American veteran in Vietnam War, Doug  Mi Lier, sponsored VND 480 million (USD 30.000) through Vietnam Small Sized Project Fund to re-build Cat Tai No.1 primary school at Phu Cat District, Binh Dinh Province.

VND 280 million (USD 17.500) worth of the rest was covered by People’s Committee of Phu Cat District. Total investment of the school building project was VND 760 million (USD 475.000).

The primary school was opened yesterday morning (24th April 2007).

The new 5-room school was re-built on its old plot. It had a well and a series of sanitary toilets. Each of the 40-m2 room had brick walls, tiled roof, enameled floor, electric fans and lights.

The newly-built school satisfied need of 500 local teachers and pupils.
