Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee on Thursday held a meeting discussing ways of preventing illegal tital exploiting activities in Phu Cat district.

Speaking at the meeting, the permanent vice-chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien affirmed that the titan mineral was one of the national resources belonging to the State’s control. He steered the Phu Cat disctrict’s authorities to total up and classify the organizations and individuals who have illegally exploited, carried and purchased titan, to set up the block points at Cat Hai and Cat Minh hamlets, and to appoint securities forces on guard day and night. Besides, the Steering Board on preventing illegal tital exploiting, transporting and purchasing activities, inter-functional bodies were established to examine those violating. From now to May 10, the propaganda will have been promoted and after May 10 there will be a deployment of functional bodies to definitely tackle the problem.

Recently, the activities of illegally exploiting, purchasing and transporting the titan have been happening uncontrollably at Cat Thanh, Cat Khanh and Cat Hai hamlets (Phu Cat district). Phu Cat district People’s Committee has conducted many measures but had no effect. Phu Cat district People’s Committee suggested to set up the provincial steering board, and steered functional bodies to have consistent measures to deal with the problem.
