Mr Khammuon Vongphachan and Mr Nguyen Van Thien at the meeting (Binhdinhinvest)

On May 4, at the head office of Binh Dinh Province People Committee the permanent vice-chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien and some provincial bodies and agencies held a meeting with Attapeu province’s delegation (Lao People’s Democratic Republic) led by Mr Khammuon Vongphachan–Deputy Province Committee secretary, Chairman of State and Party Monitoring Committee of Attapeu Province.

At the meeting two leaders informed to each other about the results of cooperation programmes between the two provinces. Binh Dinh province has supported Attapeu province in seeds and domestic animals, conducted some models of encouraging agricultural expansion which Laos’ Agriculture and Forest Ministry highly appreciated, and trained more than 170 Laos students at Quy Nhon University. Besides, other cooperation programmes in the transport development, trade and tourism, etc have brought satisfactory results.

Mr Khammuon Vongphachan expressed the gratitude for Binh Dinh province’s support in the past time and hoped that the cooperation programmes between two provinces would have further results. He also suggested Binh Dinh province provide historical documents related to the friendship relationship between two provinces in the past. This is one of the contents of the programme on developing the tradition of cooperation from the resistance war so far between Vietnam and Lao in general and Binh Dinh and Attapeu provinces in particular.

Mr Nguyen Van Thien also suggested Attapeu province create favourable conditions for Binh Dinh-based enterprises to conduct the project of building 4000-ha-raw material areas for Pisico Corporation’s manufacturers of processing cassava and alcohol, for Tuy Phuoc electricity construction & installation joint-stock company to build Sexou hydro-plant and for other projects.
