The delegation of supervising and examining of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly led by Mr Pham The Duyet – Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, Vice-Chairman of the Central electoral council on May 8 supervised and examined the preparation for the XII general election in Binh Dinh.
In the morning, the delegation supervised and examined the preparation for the general election in Tay Son district and Tay Xuan hamlet (Tay Son district), and held a meeting at Binh Dinh People’s Committee's head office with the XII provincial election Committee in the afternoon. Mr Nguyen Xuan Duong – provincial party committee secretary, chairman of the provincial people’s committee, head of the XII provincial election board, and other officials of the election board attended the meeting.
After listening to the report of the preparation for the XII general election in Binh Dinh, Mr Pham The Duyet said that Binh Dinh’s preparation for the general election generally has been conducted on time, fulfilling requirements. Steps of negotiation for introducing candidates have followed procedures democratically, legally and publicly. The propaganda for a fair election among candidates and the co-ordination among the provincial Committee of the Party, People’s Council, People’s Committee and organizations on behalf of the election Committee have been closely and thoroughly conducted.
Mr Pham The Duyet suggested the province pay more attention to the election time (taken place at the Uncle Ho’s anniversary and the whole Party, the people and the army are launching the campaign of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s example of moral) so that the people can have much inspiration for showing their right and duty for the country. The election is to make it well and, more importantly, to promote the province’s development, creating a belief for the people by electing talented and virtuous candidates for the national assembly.
On the remaining twelve days, he suggested the province have more concern to such issues as area, religion, and ethnic minority groups, etc to have a successful election.
