Mrs. Vo Thi Nhieu (born in Phu My district), a 70-year-old overseas Vietnamese in Canada, decided to sponsor over VND500 million (nearly US$31,000) for the construction of No.2 My Thanh Primary School’s classrooms.

No.2 My Thanh Primary school was built in 1984 with 12 classrooms which are now very old. There are 18 classes with more than 600 primary pupils, but 1/3 of the classroom is dilapidated. Realizing the situation, Mrs. Vo Thi Nhieu sponsored over VND500 million ($31,000) to build 5 new national standard required classrooms (with facilities). The construction plans to be finished in late May 2007.
