Chairman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee Vu Hoang Ha on May 16 held a meeting with HCM City-based Australian consul general Mal Skelly at the provincial People’s Committee’s head office. This is the first time Mr. Mal Skelly visits Binh Dinh to study the social-economic conditions and visit two Australian businesses’ investment projects.
At the meeting, Chairman Vu Hoang Ha briefly introduced Mr. Mal Skelly to Binh Dinh’s social-economic conditions, projects prioritizing the development of the infrastructures in traffic and policies to attract foreign investments to Nhon Hoi economic zone.
Mr. Mal Skelly said that Australian businesses had mainly invested in the Southern of Vietnam, but currently directed towards central provinces. Their strong points are service development, tourism, and mine ores. The initial success of two Australian businesses investing in Binh Dinh will initiate other Australian investors to invest in the province.
After the meeting, Mr. Mal Skelly visited two Australian businesses in Binh Dinh: Vietnam-Australia limited liability company (at Xuan Thanh Nam hamlet, My An commune, Phu My district) producing and providing the white shrimp (penaeus vannamei) which is anti-disease for provinces from Hue to Dong Nai, and AVSS limited liability company (at Nhon Binh industrial complex) specializing in stainless steel products and the service consultancy. Generally, these two businesses have initially operated effectively, employing nearly 40-60 local people with the income of VND1.4-1.6 million per month.
