The Ministry of Planning and Investment has submitted the “nursery school education and care in Binh Dinh” project to the Prime Minister for approval. This project has been conducted by Binh Dinh province People’s Committee with the non-refundable aid of New Zealand’s International Aid & Development Agency (NZAID).
The project aims at bringing the education to children of 58 remote, and isolated communes and ethnic minority regions in Binh Dinh. Under the project, classrooms and the preschool education will be provided for such communes’ children to partly contribute to the conduction of “the national action plan on the education for people in the 2003-2015 period in Binh Dinh” with the total expenditure of about VND53 billion(US$3.312 million) in which the NZAID’s non-refundable capital is VND32.010 billion (roughly $2.01 million) and the corresponding capital is VND20.947 billion ($1.25 million). Accordingly, 69 classrooms will be built at 67 single schools, and 11 new schools will be built in 58 provincial remote and isolated communes as well as ethnic minority regions. Also, the project targets at enhancing the awareness in the community of the role and importance of the nursery school education and care, providing a one-year-preschool education for nearly 6,000 children in hamlets, communes and regions where the project will be conducted.
The project is to be conducted to the end of 2008.
