Binh Dinh province’s 11th Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Congress for the term of 2007-2012 held in 3 days (from May 24-26) in Quynhon city was crowned with success.
Delegates discussed and approved reports of the 10th provincial Executive Committee of the Union (term 2002-2007) presented at the Congress, contributing their ideas to the 8th Central Executive Committee’s draft political platform which is to be submitted at the 9th nationwide HCYU Congress and the modified regulations of the Union.
Contents on which delegates focused at the Congress were that the under-provincial HCYU needs to respond to the campaign named Nghia tinh bien gioi hai dao (the affection for bordering and island areas) actively by encouraging to be twinned with remote and isolated areas, suggesting solutions for the management of members of the HCYU working at industrial zones and day students, promulgating regulations on HCYU members’ work, and suggesting a raise in allowances for ward and commune HCYUs’ deputy secretaries and hamlet HCYUs’ secretaries.
At the Congress, the provincial 39-member- Executive Committee of the Union was elected, including Pham Vinh Thai – Secretary and 3 deputy secretaries: Ha Van Cat, Ly Tiet Hanh, and Nguyen Tuan Thanh. Alongside this, 13 official delegates and one representative for the provincial Youth at the 9th HCYU Congress were elected.
Also, at the Congress nearly 60 individuals and organizations pledged to sponsor over VND25 million for the “Sponsoring for orphans and homeless children” campaign launched by the provincial HCYU.
