Vice-chairwoman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh in the afternoon of May 29 held a meeting with Mr. John Egan - director of Vietnam’s NZAID (New Zealand’s International Aid and Development Agency) programme at the provincial People’s Committee’s head office. Leaders of provincial functional bodies and agencies also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Mr. John Egan highly appreciated the effect of NZAID’s medical supporting projects, which have been conducted in Binh Dinh. He pledged to continue supporting Binh Dinh in fields of education, rural and agriculture, giving priority to the sustainable development of rural residents’ means of subsistence, and finding Binh Dinh’s demands that need to be supported in the future. After 2010, NZAID will be able to shift from the current supporting stage to the cooperating stage, and basing on this, NZAID will transfer high technologies to Binh Dinh and train highly-skilled workforce to meet the province’s demand.
Vice-chairwoman Binh expressed the province’s gratitude to NZAID for its support and cooperation in the past time. In the coming time, the NZAID’s support and cooperation is still essential for Binh Dinh, Binh said. Particularly, in the medical programme, NZAID will continue supporting the projects of “adolescent reproductive health care”, “nursery health care”, and “food safety”; as for the rural development, Binh Dinh will be supported in building poultry processing places, models of mushroom production; in education, NZAID will sponsor education centers for community.
