Leaders of the provincial Committee of the Party, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on May 30 visited Buddhist organizations and dignitaries in Binh Dinh on the 2,551st birthday of Lord Buddha (Buddhist calendar).
The delegation led by Pham Van Thanh – Standing Deputy Province Committee Secretary visited the Executive Board of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).
The delegation headed by the permanent vice-chairman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien visited Buddhist monk Thich Thien Nhon – member of the VBS’s Executive Council, Chief of the provincial VBS’s Executive Board and head of Thien Duc pagoda (located at Phuoc Hung commune of Tuy Phuoc district), and the Buddhist monk Thich Phuoc Thanh – member of the VBS’s Identity Council and Executive Board and head of Thien Phuoc pagoda (My Hiep commune of Phu My district)
The delegation led by vice-chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh visited the provincial Buddhist school at Phuoc Hiep commune of Tuy Phuoc Province and Senior Buddhist monk Thich Nhu Quang – Deputy Chief of the provincial VBS’s Executive Board and head of Dai Vien pagoda (Tay Phu commune of Tay Son district).
Leaders extended their greetings to all Buddhist monks, nuns, and believers to mark the day, and expressed wish that the dignitaries would further encourage monks, nuns and believers to actively join hand in socio-economic development and national unity.
On behalf of Most Venerables, monks, nuns and followers in the province, dignitaries expressed thanks to the provincial Committee of the Party, People’s Council, People’s Committee, VFF and provincial organizations for their support and assistance. The dignitaries affirmed that all Buddhist monks, nuns and followers have united to contribute to the development of the country under the principle: religion-nation-socialism.
