Solemnly celebrate 82nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

Binh Dinh Journalists Association solemnly held a ceremony to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Vietnam Press Day (June 21), in Quy Nhon city, on June 21 and to offer the Binh Dinh Press prizes in 2007.

The permanent Deputy Province Committee Secretary, Pham Van Thanh; member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy province Committee Secretary and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Vu Hoang Ha; Vice-chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh; president of Binh Dinh Fatherland Front, Truong Dinh Tan; representatives of the provincial bodies and agencies, and members of Binh Dinh Journalists Association and Binh Dinh people attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the chairman of Binh Dinh Journalists Association, Tran Trung Kien, delivered a speech to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Vietnam Press Day.

On behalf of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee, Chairman Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated achievements Binh Dinh’s Press got in the past time, expressing his hope that the journalists always uphold the spirit of responsibility and have an inquiring mind to improve the professional ability. The press should not only raise questions or find out the problems but also, together with the society, find the answers for such questions, he said.

Also at the ceremony the representative of Binh Dinh Journalists Association bestowed the Vietnam Journalists Association’s insignia “For the Press career” on three journalists who have had many contributions to the press career in the province and awarded journalists whose works won the 2007 Press prizes, including 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 9 C prizes and 7 consolation prizes. The prize winning-works belong to 3 types: printing press, electronic newspaper, broadcasting, and radio.

Alongside this, there were TV reports on activities of the provincial press agencies, performances, and talks with prize-winning journalists and characters in these works.

On this occasion, the Binh Dinh-based representative office of Thanh Nien newspaper offered 5 scholarships to 5 students of Quy Nhon University and 5 high school students.
