Binh Dinh: Conference on gender equality and women empowerment held

Within the framework of the mother and child health care project, the administration of the project VIE/03/P20 cooperated with New Zealand’s International Aid and Development Agency (NZAID) to held a conference on “the gender and women empowerment” on August 7. Mr. John Egan, the First Secretary of the New Zealand Embassy and director of the NZAID programme in Vietnam, and representatives of the Board for the women’s advancement of bodies and agencies in Binh Dinh attended the meeting.

Mrs. Samantha Hung, an NZAID’s gender expert presented some basic concepts of the gender, gender equality, and gender discrimination. She also introduced NZAID’s policies to gain the gender equality and enhance the women’s status.

Also, at the meeting, NZAID’s policies on the gender equality and its aid programmes in Binh Dinh were discussed.
