Binh Dinh: Green turtle released to sea

A green sea turtle (listed in the IUCN Red List of threatened species) caught by fishermen in the Nhon Hai commune (Quy Nhon city) was released to the sea.

The green sea turtle (its scientific name is Chelonia mydas) weighs 100 kg and it is nearly 60 year olds, according to Mrs. Gail Begbie, a New Zealand expert of the aquatic resources protection.

According to Binh Dinh Aquatic Resources Protection Department, they also found some eggs of this green sea turtle at the Nhon Hai coast.
