Vice-Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee, Le Huu Loc, on September 25 received the delegation of CARE International Organisation in Vietnam and European Commission’s humanitarian aid department (DIPECHO).

CARE International in Vietnam and DIPECHO (Disaster Preparedness ECHO) have supported Binh Dinh in reinforcing the capacity for preventing and dealing with the disaster. The second phase of the project worth over 301,000 EURO has been conducted since January, 2007 and will be completed in March, 2008.

The visit of two organisations to Binh Dinh aimed at investigating the practical effectiveness of the project and making films for fund-raising activities for other projects in Binh Dinh.

At the reception, Vice-Chairman Loc thanked CARE and DIPECHO for assisting Binh Dinh in the disaster prevention. He also asked for more support for measures in reducing the disaster, environmental pollution in rural areas, and food safety, pledging that Binh Dinh would create favorable conditions for the conduction of projects.

Director of CARE International in Vietnam, Geraldine Zwack, highly appreciated the effort of Binh Dinh’s people and authority in conducting the project, promising to aid Binh Dinh in effectively carrying out the second phase.

After the meeting, the CARE and DIPECHO’s delegation went studying some localities benefiting from the project.
