Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee on September 28 held the conference on the recognition of the sustainable rural livelihood project. Project consultants and representatives of relevant bodies attended the conference.

At the conference, consultants presented the information on localities in Binh Dinh, including the social-economic situation and the agricultural production. Solutions for improving peasants’ living-standards, such as: job creation, capital supporting, and vocational training, were also discussed. Besides, markets for the agricultural products and food consumption and the relationship between peasants and processing enterprises must be formed.

Binh Dinh is one of two provinces in Central region and Central Highlands conducting the sustainable rural livelihood project sponsored by New Zealand Government. The project worth US$2-3 million will be carried out from 2008 to 2010. It aims at sustainably improving the people’s lives in rural areas.
