Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People's Committee Nguyen Van Thien held a meeting with the delegation of World Bank (WB) and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the agricultural competitiveness project on January 15. Leaders of relevant bodies and agencies attended the meeting.

Mr Andrew Goodland, co-author of the project, briefed on the content and preparations. The project includes four parts: agricultural technologies improvement, support for production cooperation, support for market, and project management and institution enhancement.

It aims to improve the competitiveness and relations of production for farmers in the central region, promoting the relationship among farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs for enhancing the effectiveness of market promotion.

Vice Chairman Thien highly appreciated the project, expressing many thanks for WB and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. He also stated difficulties in cattle breeding, fishing, and sea products processing and export. The project needs to focus on such sectors when being conducted.
