Binh Dinh Department of Trade on January 28 held a meeting to conduct tasks in 2008.
Reports stated that 2007 saw the stability and development of Binh Dinh's trade activities. The retail sales and social services went by 20 percent over 2006, in which the retail in trade accounted for 86 percent.
The economic sectors and distribution system have developed. Trade activities in mountainous areas and price management were promoted.
Last year's export turnover was estimated to reach US$325.5 million, a surge of 33.5 percent over 2006, accounting for 116 percent of the yearly plan.
State owned enterprises, private sector, and foreign-invested registered as economic sectors having high export turnover with an increase of 26 percent, 37 percent, and 31 percent, respectively.
Also, other tasks were effectively conducted in 2007, such as international economic integration, trade promotion, and cooperation for trade development.
The export turnover is forecasted to reach $360 million in 2008. The total retail sales and services will record at over VND13,600 billion, an increase of 20 percent over 2007.
