Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien held a meeting with Quy Nhon city People’s Committee on October 20.
Reports stated that the city’s social-economic situation has continued to grow in the first nine months this year.
Statistics showed that the industrial production value was up 16%, the export turnover increased over 20%, and the total retail and services surged by 24%.
The urban renewal, management, and other fields were improved, ensuring the public order and political security, according to the reports.
However, there were still some drawbacks. The economic growth hasn’t proved its sustainability. The ground clearance and compensation have still faced difficulties. There is no effective measure to prevent the number of out-of-school children.
Quy Nhon city People’s Committee mentioned 15 unsolved issues relating to fields of finance-banking, planning-investment, environment-natural resources, and other issues.
Speaking at the meeting, provincial Chairman Thien acknowledged Quy Nhon city People’s Committee’s efforts, particularly its contribution to Tay Son – Binh Dinh Festival.
He said that the city still has many problems, such as the environmental pollution in Nhon Binh and Quang Trung industrial clusters and the land management.
Thien steered the city’s leaders to focus on the urban planning, construction, and investment. It needs to cooperate with functional bodies to draft regulations relating the urban planning.
Inner Quy Nhon will have no industrial clusters. The current industrial clusters causing the environmental pollution must be planned to be removed from the city, he added.
