AFD-funded project to be carried out in Binh Dinh

The project on strengthening the experimental capacity, severe acute respiratory syndrome infection observation, virus-infected petechial fever, and encephalitis in Nha Trang Pasteur Institute and Binh Dinh worth nearly 404,000 EUR will be implemented from Oct., 2008 to 2010.

French Development Agency (AFD) will provide the non-refundable aid for the project. The Ministry of Health and relevant bodies will be in charge of the corresponding capital.

The project will focus on strengthening the experimental capacity in Nha Trang Pasteur Institute in the diagnosis of SARS, virus-infected petechial fever and encephalitis.

It is also expected to enhance the investigation and observation capacity as well as the identification of epidemiology and virus of SARS, virus-infected petechial fever and encephalitis in Binh Dinh.

The epidemic observation, medical staff training, and experience exchange will be involved in the project, quickly dealing with diseases in the region.

The project will be implemented in Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province.
