17:43', 10/12/ 2008 (GMT+7)

Binh Dinh Union of Science and Technology Associations on Dec.9 held a ceremony on the implementation of two environment protection projects in Binh Dinh. Its members and the Global Environment Fund (GEF) will conduct the projects.

The Aquiculture Association will be assigned to conduct a project worth VND1.6 billion, aiming at protecting the environment and sustainably exploiting the natural resources in coastal areas in Binh Dinh. The project is expected to improve the living standard of the residents in coastal areas.

Another project implemented by the Gardening Association has the capital of VND1.4 billion. It will focus on studying the cassava growing in Binh Dinh. The study aims at building policies to support the sustainable development of cassava.

Two GEF-sponsored projects are expected to be implemented from 2008-10.
