A meeting was held at Institute of Malariology-Parasitology-Entomology Quy Nhon on March 18 to summarize the result of the parasitic disease and malaria prevention in central region and central highlands in 2007.

Representatives of Ministry of Health, WHO Vietnam, and leaders of relevant bodies attended the meeting.

2007 saw the success of the malaria prevention in provinces and cities nationwide. The number of malaria-infected patients dropped 32.48 percent.

The rate of malaria-infected patients in the region decreased but it seemed that this figure hasn’t been sustainable.

In 2008, Institute of Malariology-Parasitology-Entomology Quy Nhon will continue focus on the prevention of malaria, calling upon the aid from health organisations.
