Meeting responding to World Tuberculosis Day held
21:38', 23/3/ 2008 (GMT+7)

The meeting responding to the World Tuberculosis Day was held at Binh Dinh Hospital for Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Disease on March 21. The theme of this year’s World TB Day is “I’m stopping TB”.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Director of Binh Dinh Department of Health, Ho Viet My, highly appreciated health bodies and the support of local authorities for their contributions to reduce the rate of TB-infected patients.

Binh Dinh, however, still faces many challenges. With the message “Act for life towards a No-TB world”, local authorities, social organisations, and the community need to actively further the control of TB, raising the awareness of TB in the coming time.

In 2007, there were 1,970 TB-infected patients in Binh Dinh, including 1,084 new cases.

Also, on this occasion, Binh Dinh Hospital for Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Disease held an art performance with the theme “Singing for patients” and presented gifts to TB patients.
