Food hygiene quality and safety month launched

The Steering Committee on Food Hygiene Quality and Safety launched “A Month of Action for Food Hygiene Quality and Safety 2008” in Quy Nhon City on April 13.

Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh; representatives of relevant bodies and agencies attended the launching ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Binh called on manufacturers and food businesses to raise their awareness of food safety. She also asked the people to actively respond to the campaign.

With the theme of preventing infectious diseases on the digestive system, Binh asked functional bodies and agencies need to further measures to ensure food hygiene quality and safety as well as enhance food safety and hygiene inspection, helping to prevent and handle many violation cases.
