15:18', 7/5/ 2008 (GMT+7)

Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee held a launching ceremony of the National Week of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation in 2008 in Phuoc Son No1 junior secondary school, Tuy Phuoc District on May 6.

Thousands of clean water and environmental sanitation works have been built in rural areas in the past few years. Many localities, however, seriously lack clean water and people must use polluted water badly affecting their health.

The programme envisages having clean water in every rural household in rural areas and hygienic pigsties and waste treatment systems by 2010.

Also, Binh Dinh will continue building large-scaled works providing clean water and create favorable conditions for people to loan for the construction of clean water and environmental sanitation works.
