Ban Mai refined ilmenite plant has exported over 10,000 tons of ilmenite to China, Malaysia, and other countries since August 2006 when it operated for the first time. The content of TiO2 in the refined ilmenite accounts for 57 percent.

Ban Mai refined ilmenite plant is the first one in Binh Dinh. Previously, minerals companies in Binh Dinh only exploit and export the ilmenite ore whose value is lower than the refined ilmenite.

Currently, one ton of refined ilmenite cost VND4.2 million; whereas, one ton of ilmenite ore only cost about VND1.8 million.
