6-month export value of aquatic products reaches US$17 mln

The export value of aquatic products processing enterprises in Binh Dinh has increased in the first six months, according to Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Binh Dinh’s total export value of aquatic products in the first six months reached US$17 million, a rise of 7.3 percent over 2007, accounting for 42.5 percent of the yearly target.

The export turnover of aquatic products recorded at $14 million, a year-on-year surge of 6.6 percent. The value of aquatic products for export contributed $3 million, an increase of 10.9 percent. Frozen seafood products for export were estimated to account for 2,400 tons, a surge of 6.7 percent over the same period last year.
