1st national traditional Tuong festival closes

The 1st national traditional Tuong (Vietnamese classical drama) festival closed on July 30 at Binh Dinh Center of Culture and Information.

Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Vu Hoang Ha; and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Le Tien Tho attended the closing ceremony.

Seven Tuong troupes participated in the festival with 8 plays. Artists were honored with 15 gold and 24 silver medals.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism also granted the certificate of merit to all troupes.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Tho affirmed that Tuong troupes need to learn experiences after the festival. Regardless of difficulties, traditional Tuong art must be preserved because it is Vietnam’s cultural feature and power.
