Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien on Oct. 19 received the Belgium Embassy delegation led by Patrick De Bouck, head of the Belgium Development Cooperation.
Representatives of relevant bodies also attended the meeting.
Bouck’s visit aims to inspect the implementation of Belgian-funded project on water supply and hygiene in central Binh Dinh province worth a total 8.95 million EUR.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Belgian government will provide 5 million EUR to help Binh Dinh province implement three sub-projects to provide safe water for seven flood-hit communes; build a reservoir in My Chau commune, Phu My district; and treat solid waste in the four districts of Tay Son, Anh Nhon, Phu My and Hoai Nhon.
In addition, Belgium has agreed to provide Binh Dinh with more than 2.7 million EUR to fund two projects intended to increase agricultural production and improve living conditions for the residents of Phu My district.
Thien briefed them on the progress of some projects, including the water supply in Phu Cat, Hoc Mon reservoir, and solid waste treatment.
