16:57', 12/11/ 2009 (GMT+7)

Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Thanh (L) visits Dieu Tri town primary school No.2.

The province’s delegation headed by Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Thanh on November 11 went on an inspection tour about overcoming the flood aftermath in Tuy Phuoc district.

The report said the typhoon Mirinae and the flood afterwards caused severe damage in the district, leaving 4 dead, 9 injured, and 316 collapsed houses.

After the water had gone down, the local authorities help people repair houses and the traffic system and clean household facilities.

Thanh highly appreciated their all-out efforts, particularly the young volunteers, asking the local authorities to strengthen the rescue and focus on the environment protection.

He also visited three flood-stricken schools in Tuy Phuoc, including Tuy Phuoc high school No.1, Dieu Tri town junior high school, and Dieu Tri town primary school No.2.

Thanh extended his sympathy to all teachers and students, hoping that they will overcome difficulties.

The delegation also offered five packages of notebooks for each school.
