Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien on November 13 received the delegation from the University of Hawaii, led by Dr James Spencer.
The visit aimed to help the province make Quy Nhon become an environmental friendly city.
According to Dr Spencer, Quy Nhon is a small city but it has potential for development. He said that new investment wave flowing into Binh Dinh in 5-10 years would affect the city’s development.
The city, therefore, needs to be planned to become an environmental friendly one, creating practical advantages for people.
Hawaii University’s professors could assist the province in proposing plans to build an environmental friendly city and calling for investors.
Thien expressed many thanks to the delegation, saying that the province’s leaders have also thought about this.
He steered the province’s Department of Construction to provide the information on the city planning for Dr Spencer.
The Department was also assigned to closely coordinate with the University of Hawaii and the Ministry of Construction’s Urban Development Agency to effectively implement proposed plans.
