Binh Dinh People’s Committee and the provincial management board for “Early Childhood Care and Education” (ECCE) project held a full-term review meeting of the project on November 16.

The province’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh and representatives of New Zealand’s International Aid and Development Agency (NZAID) and the Ministry of Education and Training attended the meeting.

The ECCE project has been implemented in the central province of Binh Dinh since 2007. NZAID funded over VND32 billion and the province contributed more than VND30 billion to the project.

The project has improved the educational quality and create favorable conditions for 3-5 year-children in underprivileged areas after 28 months of implementation.

Many classrooms were newly built in different communes in the province, let alone the supply of educational facilities for pre-school children and the capacity building for teachers.

Also, the project helped children in 58 disadvantaged communes finish one-year pre-school education.
