A meeting on responding to the communications campaign on gender equality and domestic violence prevention was held in Quy Nhon city on November 22.

The campaign entitled “We are men, we say no to domestic violence” took place on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women which falls on Nov. 25.

Attending the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Le Huu Loc said each family is a person’s home affecting his personality development. The negative sides of the market economy are now impacting many families.

The gender inequality still, however, exists in many families, Loc affirmed. Each family has to protect its happiness and strives to eliminate the domestic violence as well as the gender inequality.

Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Farmers' Association, Quach Hong Duc, promised the association will coordinate with local authorities and functional bodies to popularize the domestic violence prevention and gender equality.
