Province’s leader receives CARE representative

Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh received the country director for CARE International in Vietnam, Peter Newsum, on December 16.

Mr. Peter Newsum was briefed on the damage caused by the typhoon Mirinae and difficulties the locals have faced.

The CARE International in Vietnam was asked to aid Binh Dinh province with programs, aimed at helping flood victims overcome difficulties.

Mr. Peter Newsum highly appreciated the province’s efforts in implementing measures to overcome the flood aftermath, saying that CARE has carried out many projects to help people in Binh Dinh enhance the capacity for preventing and controlling disasters and bird flu epidemic.

CARE will continue its relief programs in flood-hit areas and build plans to help people eradicate hunger and reduce poverty in the coming time, he added.
