Binh Dinh Province’s consumer price index (CPI) for the first month of 2009 was up 0.8% against the previous month, the first increase in the last three months of 2008.
The market in the urban area saw a surge of 0.64% while CPI went up 0.89% in rural areas. Food and some services experienced the highest price hikes.
However, commodity prices were quite reasonable during the Tet (lunar New Year) holiday.
