54th anniversary of Vietnam’s Doctors’ Day marked

The province’s Department of Health held the 54th anniversary of Vietnam’s Doctors’ Day on Feb. 25. Provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh attended the ceremony.

Participants reviewed 54 years of Vietnam’s health sector, listening to Uncle Ho’s letter sent to the medical staff at a meeting held in Feb., 1955.

In 2009, the province’s health sector targets at reducing the death rate caused by diseases, enhancing health, life expectancy, and living standard, and forming a synchronous health care system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Binh highly valued the health sector’s achievements, asking for the improvement in the medical etiquette and treatment.

She also asked the provincial health sector to strengthen the heath network at grass roots level and the management in hospitals.
