Labour safety, fire prevention week launched

The national week on labour-hygiene safety and fire prevention was launched in the central coastal of Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province, on Mar. 15.

Provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh and representatives of relevant bodies attended the launching ceremony.

The week aimed to boost awareness on the need to ensure labour sanitation and safety and phase out the dangers of fire and explosion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Binh acknowledged the localities’ and businesses’ efforts to ensure the labour safety and prevent fires in recent years, yet called for continued work in reducing the number of occupational accidents, fires and explosions this year.

Last year, 61 work accidents and 60 fires happened across the province, leaving 61 people injured.

Also, the provincial People’s Committee granted the certificates of merit to nine organizations and individuals for their contributions to the labour and hygiene safety and fire prevention.
