The Economic Attaché of the HCM City-based US Consulate General, Douglas Sonnek paid a working visit to Binh Dinh on March 19.

Director of the province’s Department of Planning and Investment Le Van Tam received the delegation.

Douglas Sonnek expressed his concern for the economic, social, and cultural relations between Binh Dinh and Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) provinces, the operation of Quy Nhon Port in the correlation with Central Highlands provinces, and the impact of the global economic regression on Binh Dinh.

Tam said Binh Dinh has close relations with Central Highlands provinces. The effective operation of Quy Nhon Port is partly thanks to two neighboring countries, Cambodia and Laos, as well as Central Highlands provinces.

He also stressed Binh Dinh met many difficulties due to the global economic regression.

However, according to Tam, Binh Dinh has also taken full advantage of its positive side to build the infrastructure in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, improve the administrative procedure, and prepare for calling on investment.
