The province’s socio-economic situation slowly grew in the first quarter this year, according reports at the meeting held by Binh Dinh Province’s People’s Committee on March 27.
The local’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 7.4 percent, which is lower than the growth rate in the corresponding period last year.
Some saw slight increases, with 6 percent in agricultural-forest-aquatic products, 6.8 percent in industry and construction, and 8.7 percent in services.
Social and cultural activities showed positive changes in many localities. The political security and public order were kept stable; however, the number of traffic accidents increased with 70 cases, resulting in 77 deaths.
The province’s Chairman steered provincial bodies to focus on supporting businesses, promoting the construction, particularly in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, resettlement areas, and strengthening measures to prevent epidemic.
