The Steering Board for Vietnam - Sweden Cooperation Programme on Strengthening Environmental Management and Land Administration in Vietnam (SEMLA) headed by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) Tran The Ngoc paid a working visit to Binh Dinh on Apr. 8-9.
Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien received the delegation.. SEMLA consists of three components with different projects. The program has been carried out in the central province of Binh Dinh since July 2006.
Eight projects have been implemented so far, such as pollution prevention, control and rehabilitation; chemical safety; cleaner production; environmental and land information systems (ELIS); land use planning; Provincial human capacity building and public awareness raising.
The delegation held a meeting with the province’s management board on the Provincial Component, highly appreciating the province’s efforts.
They also asked the provincial management board to focus on six key tasks this year, particularly the land use planning in combination with the environment protection and climate change in Districts of Phu Cat and Tuy Phuoc.
