Food safety inspectorate tours Binh Dinh

The Central inspectorate for food safety and sanitation has gone an inspection tour in Binh Dinh about the implementation of action month for food safety and sanitation quality in the province.

Provincial Vice Chairwoman cum head of the steering board for food safety and sanitation program, Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, held the meeting with the delegation.

The reports showed that the province has 7,576 restaurants and food suppliers, of which 1,425 were licensed and 466 products were issued the certification for food standards.

An observation system for food poisoning was also set up at all levels, according to the reports. Many activities have been held so far, responding to the action month for food safety and sanitation quality.

The province also asked central bodies to soon promulgate the Law on Food and a set of food safety and sanitation quality standards.

The inspectorate has gone an inspection tour at some food suppliers in the city in two days (Apr. 6-7).
