When seeking wasted iron, the locals in Quy Nhon city found a cannon under the bottom of sea in Hai Minh area.

The 600 kg cannon is 2.3 metres in length, believed to be used for warships.

This is the fourth cannon found on Thi Nai lagoon so far. It is now being stored at the local’s house.

History says that Nguyen Anh used 91 warships with 200 soldiers and 26 cannons in the battle with Tay Son troops on Thi Nai lagoon in 1801. Most of them were sunk during the fight.
