Seminar on climate change held

The seminar on the capacity building on responding to climate change was held in Quy Nhon city on May 25.

Representatives of Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment (IMHEN), UNDP, and functional bodies as well as People’s Committee of 19 provinces attended the seminar.

The seminar aimed to implement the “national capacity building on responding to climate change in Vietnam, cut down the impact, and control the elimination of green house effect” project and the national target program to respond to climate change approved by the Government.

Participant presented many climate change-relating issues, such as global climate change, climate change in the past, climate change in present day, potential impact of climate change in Vietnam, and measures to respond to climate change in Vietnam.

IMHEN and the project management board also held a training course for participants on the capacity building on responding to climate change.

Binh Dinh is one of four provinces and cities in Vietnam selected to join the “national capacity building on responding to climate change in Vietnam, cut down the impact, and control the elimination of green house effect” project.
