Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien said that provincial bodies, agencies, and localities need to focus on raising the people’s awareness of flood and storm prevention.

Also, speaking at the meeting on implementing flood and storm prevention as well as in assigning tasks of search and rescue held in Quy Nhon city on June 9, Thien asked localities to prepare for the flood and storm prevention, aiming to minimize the damage.

The flood and storm will dangerously continue happening this year due to the global climate change, according to the province’s hydrometeorology forecast center.

The main tasks require to avoid and adapt to develop, promptly respond to the disaster, and effectively repair the damage caused by disaster.

Participants asked to strengthen the steering boards of all levels and the weather forecast. It is also necessary to prepare forces, equipment, food, and drug for the flood and storm combat.
