Central province oks construction VND90 bn port

People’s Committee of central Binh Dinh province has just approved a project to build Thi Nai Port with a total investment of VND90 billion (US$5.32 million).

 The project includes construction of a new wharf to receive 10,000-ton vessels, upgrade of the current 5,000-ton wharf, depot system and other auxiliary facilities.

Binh Dinh province is also home to Quy Nhon International Seaport which is capable of serving ships of 20,000-30,000 tons. The seaport is expected to handle 4 million-5 million tons of cargo in 2010.

The province boats potentials to develop projects in the areas of seafood, forestry and minerals.
