Binh Dinh People’s Committee yesterday (July 22) held a meeting on implementing the agriculture competitiveness project.

The World Bank-funded project is expected to be implemented in the central province of Binh Dinh till 2013 with the capital of US$8 million.

There are four components to the project, including the enhancement of agricultural technology, the support to productive partnerships, the provision of critical infrastructure, and the support for project management and institutional strengthening.

It aims to strengthen the competitiveness of smallholder farmers in collaboration with the agribusiness sector. This project is expected to improve smallholders’ access to markets through the provision of technology services, of critical public infrastructure for agriculture, and facilitating farmer organizations and linkages to agribusiness.
