1-mln-tonne iron ore plant construction kicks off

The construction of iron ore processing plant kicked off in Hoai Duc industrial cluster, Hoai Nhon district on August 14.

This is the first iron ore plant in Binh Dinh invested by the Central Region Minerals Joint Stock Company.

The plant is built at a cost of more than 686 billion VND (38.4 million USD) in two phases.

The plant will have a capacity of 400,000 tonnes of product a year and will create jobs for 400 local workers in phase I till 2010.

It is expected to increase its capacity to 1 million tonnes of product a year from 2011, generating 1,000 jobs.
