Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant construction kicks off

Vinh Son – Song Hinh hydropower joint stock company on September 27 started the construction of Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant in Kon Plong district, the central highland province of Kon Tum.

The Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant with an investment of over 5.7 trillion VND (roughly 322 million USD) is designed to have a total capacity of 220 MW, producing 1.1 billion kWh of electricity a year.

When fully completed in 2014, the plant is expected to supply electricity to the national 220KV electricity grid.
