Binh Dinh and 9 regional cities and provinces including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Da Nang and Ninh Thuan were selected to join the international natural disaster risk management (WB5) project.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the World Bank (WB) held a conference to prepare for the WB5 project in Quang Tri province’s city of Dong Ha yesterday.

Following the community-based natural disaster risk management (WB4) project which was implemented in the central region from 2005-2010, the 150 million USD WB5 project was loaned by the WB, aiming to strengthen the capacity to mitigate and deal with natural disasters in Vietnam.

The project is to be carried out for five years from 2012-2016.
