The Binh Dinh Committee for Catholic Solidarity held a mid-term review meeting on October 12. Outstanding individuals among the Catholic communities were also honored on the occasion.
The Catholic communities in the province have participated in the movement of “Communal solidarity for cultural life promotion in residential areas, leading good lives and religious practices”.
More than 80 percent of the Catholic residential communities were recognized good communities. 60 percent of hamlets and sub-wards with majority of Catholic followers were awarded title of cultural hamlets/ sub-wards.
Over 90 percent of the Catholic households satisfied criteria of cultural families. Lives of the Catholic followers became stable and developed. The number of poor households declined.
Activities of mutual help in business doing, poverty alleviation, charity, education attracted much attention of the Catholic priests, nuns and the followers.
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Fatherland Front Committee Thai Tung Thanh shown his happiness and high appreciation to efforts of the Catholic followers in the patriotic emulation movement, in leading good lives and religious practices, in contribution to the nation building and security tasks.
Target direction and tasks of the patriotic emulation movement among the Catholic followers as well as the 2011 action plan of Binh Dinh Committee for Catholic Solidarity were adopted at the conference. A 6-people delegation was selected to join in the 3rd National Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Catholic Communities.
