The Vinh Son – Song Hinh Hydroelectric Joint Stock Company, the owner of the Thuong Kon Tum Hydroelectric Plant project, signed a contract with two Chinese partners – the China Railway 18th Bureau and East China Institute – on building the section 2 of the plant’s energy line on October 20 in Quy Nhon City.
According to the contract, the two contractors will take the charge of building the following components within 42 months: designing and building water supply tunnel, tower of water pressure control, pressure tunnel, out channel, the plant and power distribution station with the total construction investment capital is over VND1 trillion.
The construction of the Thuong Kon Tum Hydroelectric Plant started on September 9, 2009 in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province. Its capacity is expected to reach 220MW, generating an average output 1.1 billion of KWh/year. The total investment is over VND5,744 billion. The plant is scheduled to start operation in 2014.
